    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language. Google Translate is a third-party service and site users will be leaving DoIT to utilize translated content. As such, DoIT does not guarantee and does not accept responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, or performance of this service nor the limitations provided by this service, such as the inability to translate specific files like PDFs and graphics (e.g. .jpgs, .gifs, etc.).

    DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users. All site visitors may choose to use alternate tools for their translation needs. Any individuals or parties that use DoIT content in translated form, whether by Google Translate or by any other translation services, do so at their own risk. DoIT is not liable for any loss or damages arising out of, or issues related to, the use of or reliance on translated content. DoIT assumes no liability for any site visitor’s activities in connection with use of the Google Translate functionality or content.

    The Google Translate service is a means by which DoIT offers translations of content and is meant solely for the convenience of non-English speaking users of the website. The translated content is provided directly and dynamically by Google; DoIT has no direct control over the translated content as it appears using this tool. Therefore, in all contexts, the English content, as directly provided by DoIT is to be held authoritative.

    Program Administrators Renewal

    Certification Forms​ ​Examination Renewals​

    LICENSE RENEWALS

    Certified Residential Child Care Program Administrators (“CRCCPAs”) must renew their certification every 2-years. 

    At least 3-months prior to the expiration of your certification, the State Board will send you a renewal notice by first class mail to your address of record.  The renewal notice will state the date that your certification expires, the date by which your renewal application must be received by the State Board for a renewal certificate to be issued, and the amount of your renewal fee. 

    In order to qualify for renewal, CRCCPAs must return the following documents to the State Board:

    1. Completed the renewal application
    2. Executed Release to Process Renewal Application form
    3. Certify a minimum of 40 CEUs completed within the two-year period prior to the renewal date on the Affidavit of Attendance at Board-Approved Continuing Education Programs
    4. Copies of certificates of attendance of completion for all CEUs listed

     

    Your renewal application will be marked if you need to submit to a criminal history record check or provide a pass-port size photo.

    The renewal fee is $200. Failure to renew your certificate within 1-month of your expiration Certified Residential Child Care Program Administrators (“CRCCPAs”) must renew their certification every 2-years.

The renewal notice will state the date that your certification expires, the date by which your renewal application must be received by the State Board for a renewal certificate to be issued, and the amount of your renewal fee.

    In order to qualify for renewal, CRCCPAs must return the following documents to the State Board: date will result in a $100 late fee. Failure to renew within 3-months of your expiration will result in $500 in fees ($200 reinstatement fee, $100 late fee, and $200 renewal fee). Failure to provide all required documents will result in a $5 reprocessing fee each time a document is requested.

    You may renew your certification upon receipt of your renewal package. Any renewal application received after the expiration date will be assessed a late fee and a reinstatement fee as applicable.

    CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR RENEWAL

    CRCCPAs are required to complete 40 CEUs within the 2-year period prior to their renewal date. CE is meant to foster improvement, advancement and extension of the CRCCPAs professional skill and knowledge relating to residential child care programs. CE is intended to be training obtained above the minimum annual training requirements in COMAR 14.31.06. CE may include academic course work, workshops, seminars, etc.

    The State Board will accept a MAXIMUM of 5 CEUs per renewal cycle in the content area of behavioral management. (Programs included in this content area are the State Approved Behavioral Intervention Trainings listed on the Governor’s Office for Children web site.) CE may not include CPR or First Aid.

    The State Board will not process renewal applications of CRCCPAs who have not obtained the required CEUs for renewal. If you do not have the required CEUs please contact the Board immediately.  

    NON-RENEWED STATUS

    The State Board’s statute does not provide for an “inactive” status. If a CRCCPA chooses to not renew their certification, they must complete the non-renewed status form. Individuals who elect “non-renewed” status will be removed from the Board’s mailing list.

    If your certification expires and you do not renew your certificate, you are considered non-renewed and not allowed to work as a CRCCPA in the State of Maryland. If you continue to work on an expired certificate, you are considered to be practicing without being certified and are subject to disciplinary action.

    An individual may not practice as a Residential Child Care Program Administrator in Maryland with a non-renewed certificate.

    REINSTATEMENT

    An individual may reinstate their certificate within 5-years after the expiration of their certificate. In order to reinstate a certificate, the applicant must submit the following to the State Board:

    1. Completed reinstatement application
    2. Certify a minimum of 40 CEUs completed within the two-year period prior to the renewal date on the Affidavit of Attendance at Board-Approved Continuing Education Programs
    3. Copies of certificates of attendance of completion for all CEUs listed

    RE-CERTIFICATION

    A non-renewed certificate may not be reactivated or reinstated after 5-years from the expiration date. After the 5-year timeframe, an individual must apply for re-certification and meet the current requirements for certification.
