    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language. Google Translate is a third-party service and site users will be leaving DoIT to utilize translated content. As such, DoIT does not guarantee and does not accept responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, or performance of this service nor the limitations provided by this service, such as the inability to translate specific files like PDFs and graphics (e.g. .jpgs, .gifs, etc.).

    DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users. All site visitors may choose to use alternate tools for their translation needs. Any individuals or parties that use DoIT content in translated form, whether by Google Translate or by any other translation services, do so at their own risk. DoIT is not liable for any loss or damages arising out of, or issues related to, the use of or reliance on translated content. DoIT assumes no liability for any site visitor’s activities in connection with use of the Google Translate functionality or content.

    The Google Translate service is a means by which DoIT offers translations of content and is meant solely for the convenience of non-English speaking users of the website. The translated content is provided directly and dynamically by Google; DoIT has no direct control over the translated content as it appears using this tool. Therefore, in all contexts, the English content, as directly provided by DoIT is to be held authoritative.

    Road to Readiness

    The Road to Readiness (R2R) initiative was developed to help Maryland Responders complete the steps ​required for volunteer deployment. All Maryland Responders, regardless of professional background, must complete the Road to Readiness steps to be eligible for participation in Maryland Responds deployments and to be protected by state liability coverage during deployments.

    Ready Responder ID Badge

    Once you have completed all Road to Readiness steps, you will be assigned Ready Responder Status (see below for more information). Ready Responders are fully eligible for participation in Maryland Responds local and state training, exercise, public health and emergency response activities to the level as their licensure and skill level will allow.

    As a Ready Responder, you will also receive your Ready Responder ID badge. ​

    Your Ready Responder ID will be mailed to the primary mailing address that you have listed in your Responder profile. IDs that are returned due to an incorrect address listed in your profile will be held at our office for you to pick up - they will not be mailed twice. 

    The State MRC Program is responsible for tracking Road to Readiness and issuing Responder ID badges. Any questions can be directed to your State Administrators at mdresponds.health@maryland.gov. 

     

    Ready Responder Status

    Ready Responders have completed all Road to Readiness (R2R) steps: Responder profile; Orientation with NIMS/ICS primer; Submitted liability and confidentiality forms; Submitted ID badge photo; Submitted uniform size; Emailed the Maryland Responds State Program to confirm completion. The Maryland Responds State Program has verified the credentials of these Responders (when applicable) and has issued their Responder ID badge and Ready Uniform. Ready Responders are approved to fully participate in all local or state unit activities (incident response planned events, training and exercise activities) to the level their licensure and skill level will allow.
     

    Advanced Ready Responder Status

    Advanced Ready Responders are those volunteers who want to take on more responsibility in the Maryland Responds MRC. Responders in this group have completed all Road to Readiness steps and the Maryland Responds State Program has verified their credentials (when applicable) and has issued their Responder ID badge. Additionally, these volunteers have completed the NIMS baseline curriculum courses (Independent Study-700 and ICS-100). Advanced Ready Responders are approved to fully participate in all local or state unit activities (incident response planned events, training and exercise activities) to the level their licensure and skill level will allow. In addition, volunteers in this group may be assigned to leadership roles in unit activities and are eligible to serve as mutual aid to support incident management in other states.

    Check Your Progress

    Previously, volunteers had to email the State Program to see where they were on the Road to Readiness. Now, you can view this information at anytime through the training section of your Responder profile. As shown in the screen clip below, a training course has been created for each of the Road to Readiness steps (except for Step 5). As you complete R2R steps or additional trainings, you can add the corresponding training course to your profile. Once all steps are completed and verified by the State Program, the training section of your Responder profile will look similar to the screen clip shown below.
     
    Follow these steps to see where you are on the Road to Readiness:
    1. Log into your Responder profile at: https://mdresponds.health.maryland.gov/
    2. Select the My Profile top tab
    3. Select the Training sub-tab to view the Road to Readiness steps you have completed
