    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language. Google Translate is a third-party service and site users will be leaving DoIT to utilize translated content. As such, DoIT does not guarantee and does not accept responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, or performance of this service nor the limitations provided by this service, such as the inability to translate specific files like PDFs and graphics (e.g. .jpgs, .gifs, etc.).

    DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users. All site visitors may choose to use alternate tools for their translation needs. Any individuals or parties that use DoIT content in translated form, whether by Google Translate or by any other translation services, do so at their own risk. DoIT is not liable for any loss or damages arising out of, or issues related to, the use of or reliance on translated content. DoIT assumes no liability for any site visitor’s activities in connection with use of the Google Translate functionality or content.

    The Google Translate service is a means by which DoIT offers translations of content and is meant solely for the convenience of non-English speaking users of the website.     Medicaid Renewals Extended to April 30, 2022 -- Updated January 14, 2022​​

    If you are due to renew your Medicaid coverage, Maryland Medical Assistance is extending your renewal until April 30, 2022. Medicaid will not cancel your coverage during this time. The renewal date may change again due to the current state of emergency. Check this page for updates.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    Maryland Children’s Health Program Premium (MCHP) and Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID) Premium Payments Waived -- Updated September 1, 2021

    During the national public health emergency, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is suspending monthly premium payments for the Maryland Children’s Health Program Premium (MCHP) and Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID). Premium payments are not due until further notice. For those who have a scheduled recurring payment on the payment portal, MDH will not withdraw payment during this time. Policies will remain in effect. MDH will contact participants to let them know when they will have to begin payment again. This action waives payment due during the national public health emergency only. Participants will not have to make payment in the future for payments suspended during this time.     Time to Request a Fair Hearing Extended -- Updated July 1, 2021

    Governor Hogan declared the end of the Maryland State of Emergency due to COVID-19 effective July 1, 2021.  Maryland Medicaid previously extended the time for Medicaid participants and applicants to ask for a fair hearing under COMAR 10.01.04 until 30 days after the state of emergency ends .  Beginning August 1, 2021, normal timelines for filing a fair hearing request will resume consistent with the timelines established under COMAR 10.01.04.04D. 

    On August 14, 2020, the Department rescinded the previous suspension of the deadlines for providers to file appeals under COMAR 10.09.36.09.

    ​Assessment Fee for Increased Community Service (ICS) Payment Extension is Ending -- July 1, 2021

    Governor Hogan declared the end of the Maryland State of Emergency due to COVID-19 effective July 1, 2021.  The national federal Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19 remains in place.  

    During Maryland's Coronavirus (COVID-19) state of emergency, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) delayed assessment fee payments for Increased Community Services (ICS). For those who have a scheduled recurring payment on the payment portal, MDH did not withdraw payment during this time. Services remained in effect.  

    Assessment fee payments will be due 60 days after the state of emergency issued by Governor Hogan ends. MDH will contact participants to let them know when they will have to begin payment again. This action delayed payment during the state of emergency only. Participants must make payment in the future for payments delayed during this time.     March 2021 COVID-19 Relief Stimulus Checks and Medicaid Eligibility

    Stimulus checks are not counted towards income when applying for or determining Medicaid eligibility. A third stimulus, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, was signed into law on March 11. It includes a direct stimulus payment of $1,400 to most Americans. COVID-19 relief payments are not considered income. Payment status updates are available at irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.​
