Information for Providers Who See Medicaid Participants or Uninsured Marylanders
Changes to Medicaid under Health Reform
People who get Medicaid in 2014 will have the same benefits as those currently enrolled in Medicaid. There is no new program. Medicaid is just increasing its income limits so more people can join.
In Maryland, the Medicaid Program will expand to cover adults ages 19 to 64, whether they have children or not.
To qualify for Medicaid coverage through Maryland Health Connection, consumers must be under age 65, be a U.S. citizen or a qualified alien who has lived in the U.S. for five or more years, and be a resident of the state of Maryland.
How Consumers Apply for Medicaid
There are many new ways to apply for Medicaid for people under 65.
