    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    GoVAX Mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Easton is an easy stop on the way to the beach

    Baltimore, MD – Talbot County Health Officer Dr. Maria Maguire and County Manager Clay Stamp today visited the mobile COVID-19 vaccination unit (MVU) in Easton, MD. The unit provides free COVID-19 vaccinations to residents of the local area through Maryland’s GoVAX Mobile program.

    The mobile vaccination unit is located at 502 Dutchmans Lane, Easton, MD 21601, in the parking lot of the Easton Elks lodge. The location is just off of US 50 (Ocean Gateway) on Dutchman’s Lane, making it an easy stop for Marylanders travelling to and from the beach. A large road sign on US 50 East provides direction.

    “GoVAX Mobile vaccination clinics are central to intensifying our ground game as we continue pushing to return to normal,” said Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Secretary Dennis R. Schrader. “By bringing vaccines to where we live, work, and play, the GoVAX Mobile program makes it more convenient than ever for Marylanders to get vaccines.”

    Clinics will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday, May 14 and again on Sunday, May 16. Walk-ins will be accepted as long as vaccine supply allows each day. Patients can also register for an appointment by calling the Talbot County Health Department at 410-819-5641.

    “People in the community know that getting vaccinated is the right thing to do,” said Health Officer Maguire. “We’ve provided an option here in Easton that also makes getting vaccinated an easy thing to do.”

    MDH, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), local health departments, and Maryland’s Vaccine Equity Task Force all play a role in managing statewide GoVAX Mobile activities.

    The program utilizes specialized vaccination vehicles designed to support clinics of 250 or more doses per day as well as community outreach teams that travel in vans to establish smaller clinics providing 100 or more doses per day.

    At each destination, local health departments work directly with local populations – including vulnerable and hard-to-reach residents – to make vaccines available.
