    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language.     DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users.     GoVAX Mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic visits Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg

    Baltimore, MD – Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jeffrey Woolford and Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Director Dr. Raymond Crowel today visited the mobile COVID-19 vaccination unit (MVU) at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, MD. The MVU provides free COVID-19 vaccinations through Maryland’s GoVAX Mobile program.

    “As we head into the summer, GoVAX Mobile clinics will play an increasingly important role in creating convenient options for Marylanders to get vaccinated close to their homes and jobs,” said MDH Secretary Dennis R. Schrader. “GoVAX Mobile vaccination clinics are central to our ‘No Arm Left Behind’ strategy and our focus on ensuring that every Marylander who wants a shot can get a shot easily.”

    The MVU is located at 701 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, in parking lot #2, on the same side of Lakeforest Mall as the food court.

    GoVAX Mobile clinics will take place at the mall from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday. Walk-ins will be accepted as long as vaccine supply allows each day. Patients can also register for an appointment by calling the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services at 240-777-2982.

    The unit offers both the Moderna and the one-shot Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccines.

    “We are serving thousands of Marylanders every week at GoVAX Mobile sites,” said Dr. Woolford. “Our partnerships with local jurisdictions like Montgomery County are instrumental to the success of these efforts.”

    “This collaboration with the state and our minority health programs are two of our most important activities,” said Dr. Crowel. “This is how we make sure that we reach everyone who needs a vaccine.” 

    Volunteers from Salud & Bienestar will be onsite to offer Spanish-language translation services. 

    MDH, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), local health departments, and Maryland’s Vaccine Equity Task Force all play a role in managing statewide GoVAX Mobile activities. 

    The program utilizes specialized vaccination vehicles designed to support clinics of 250 or more doses per day as well as community outreach teams that travel in vans to establish smaller clinics providing 100 or more doses per day.
