Health and Mental Hygiene hosts career fair tomorrow
Event for potential employees to learn more about department, public health jobs
Baltimore, MD (October 18, 2016) – Attention, job-seekers! The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will be hosting a career fair on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the lobby of the Herbert R. O'Conor State Office Building.
“As the state health department, we employ a wide array of professionals,' said Secretary Van T. Mitchell. 'While we have our share of doctors and other health policy professionals, this event will be an opportunity for Marylanders to learn about how these diverse careers benefit our efforts to devise and implement programs and policies that result in healthier residents.'
The purpose of this event is to provide job seekers and students a chance to learn more about our agency through the experiences of Health and Mental Hygiene employees, as well as the positions and careers that we offer. Wednesday’s event will afford Marylanders the chance to hear about careers from representatives from divisions and programs from within Health and Mental Hygiene. Prospective employees will be able to take advantage of several break-out sessions that will afford attendees the chance to learn and have their questions about the department answered.
Health and Mental Hygiene has about 9,000 employees statewide. The O’Conor building is at 201 W. Preston St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
