The OCME maintains a web for funeral homes to check on the status of cases, look at and correct death certificates, and arrange for the release of decedents. A release authorization form is no longer necessary. For information about the OCME's funeral home web portal, or to register for an account, contact

In most cases, decedents can be released the day after they are transferred to the OCME. Decedents are released between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. seven days a week.
