Interstate Data Sharing

The Maryland Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is allowed by Maryland statute (Health-General Article §21–2A–06(b)(3)) to share PDMP dispense data with authorized users of another state’s prescription drug monitoring program as long as the data will be used in connection with the provision of medical care. Maryland PDMP data are shared only with credentialed clinical providers in other states, not investigative authorities such as other states’ licensing boards or law enforcement.

Currently, Maryland is sharing PDMP data with the states and systems listed below (with the year that sharing began).  The Maryland PDMP is actively working on sharing with additional states.
