Maryland Public Health Strategy for Climate Change

Overview

Our project sets out, in the next 5 years (2016 – 2021), to combine the knowledge gained during Phase I, the Maryland Climate and Health Profile Report and community input to develop interventions and adaptations to better prepare Marylanders for the climate related changes specific to their community. By the end of the program, we hope to have seen measurable improvement in the health, adaptability and capability of communities to become healthy & resilient, stay healthy and adapt to extreme weather events.

Aims

  •    Work with Maryland communities to develop and implement community     specific adaptations and interventions
  •    Monitor and evaluate interventions through the development of an implementation monitoring strategy
  •   Collaborate with organizations to strengthen community networks and provide assistance
