Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) is the automated generation and transmission of case reports from an electronic health record (EHR) to the public health agency's disease surveillance system. The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is now accepting HL7 messages from certified EHR systems for eCR and Promoting Interoperability (PI) attestation.

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is accepting eCR registrations under the Promoting Interoperability Programs. It is the registrant's responsibility to know the requirements of the particular Federal Rule under which you are registering and reporting.
To register for onboarding eCRs, go to: http://phdataportal.health.maryland.gov to register your health care organization.
After your submission has been reviewed and validated, you will receive an email with further instructions and a confirmation that you have completed the registration. If you have not received the email, the registration process will not be considered complete.
