​Local Health Department Walking Action Plans

From 2013 - 2018, nine Maryland jurisdictions were awarded funds through the 1422 (State and Local Health Actions to Prevent Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Stroke) CDC grant, to create and implement a Walking Action Plan (WAP). The purpose of this project is for jurisdictions to create a strategic action plan to help guide their local officials, engineers, planners, etc on how to create walkable communities for Marylanders to increase physical activity and become less car dependent.
