Module #1 – Global Strategies

 

Overview:

Module #1 covers the global strategies for infant and young child feeding, including how these strategies align with both the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and the Maryland Hospital Breastfeeding Policies. This module also discusses how completion of this set of modules can assist hospital staff in making quality improvements of evidence-based mother-baby care.

Objectives:

  • Identify Global Strategies for improving infant feedings
  • State the aim of the Maryland Hospital Breastfeeding Policy
  • State the Baby Friendly Hospital initiative recommendations
  • Identify goals for hospitals and health care workers to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding and improve its practices to meet the policy’s goals
  • Name two hospital policies that support breastfeeding

Content:
