Module # 7 – Hospital Policies that Assist with Breastfeeding

Overview:

Module #7 will present a variety of hospital practices that can assist with breastfeeding. It will cover topics such as rooming-in, baby-led feeding, dealing with sleep or crying babies, and avoiding unnecessary supplements, bottles, and teats.

Objectives:

  • Discuss policies and procedures that support exclusive breastfeeding in the hospital and during the early postpartum period.
  • Present strategies for dealing with sleepy or crying babies.
  • Review baby-led feeding.
  • Discuss avoiding supplements, bottles, and teats.
