Center for STI Prevention (CSTIP)

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) affect millions of Americans each year.  According to the most recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) surveillance report, combined cases of reportable STIs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia are at an all-time high in the United States.  Maryland also saw an increase in STIs for the fifth year in a row.  STIs are a threat to individual and public health as they can cause serious, costly, and life-long health problems.

On this website, you will find information and resources on STIs including prevention, testing, and treatment.  Information and resources for health care professionals and local health departments are also available, including state and local data. Please note: Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many sexual health care services may not be available, may be limited, or offices may be closed.  Call ahead to find out if, and where, sexual health services are available during the COVID-19 pandemic.
