Fire/burn/hot object were
one of the top injury-related emergency room visits for almost every age group of Marylanders in 2012. There were a total of 6,276 fire-related emergency room visits, 706 hospitalizations, and 41 deaths as a result of fire. From 2009-2013 there were 333 deaths as a result of a fire.
